Pediatric Visit

Well-child or sick visit for your child.

Typical visit length: 20–40 minutes

After your visit

What to expect once you leave the office — and what to do to keep things on track.

Consider...

  1. 1

    Scheduling the next well-child visit

Visit intervals depend on age — confirm before you leave.

  2. 2

    Watching for vaccine reactions

Mild fever or soreness is common. Call for high fever or unusual symptoms.

  3. 3

    Following up on referrals

Specialist or therapy referrals (speech, OT) often have long wait times.

  4. 4

    Updating school or daycare

Provide any required forms or notes.

When to call your provider or seek care

  • High fever in an infant under 3 months
  • Difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, or dehydration
  • Unusual lethargy or unresponsiveness
  • Seizure or sudden change in behavior

In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
